Erie County Environmental Coalition

The Erie County Environmental Coalition is a conglomeration of organizations committed to dealing with environmental issues in Erie County PA. It's members include both local organizations, and local representative of larger national organizations. It's members have been defending the environment in the Erie area for over twenty years.

February Meeting

Please join us for February meeting of the Erie County Environmental Coalition. It will be held Thursday the 9th at 7 pm in the library at the Tom Ridge Center. Some topics on the agenda this month include: Millcreek Townships current position on Zuck Park, Taylor's Tree Service and their generous donations, The Gaia Defense League's lawsuit with Millcreek Township and recent action taken by Millcreek, and possible Sponsorship of Emma's Revolution.
Some of the topics discussed at last month's meeting included: A letter Commenting on the Toxic release inventory released by the EPA, A letter commenting on the proposed plans at Erie Bluffs State Park, This Blog!, A potential technology to improve the energy efficiency of the waste water treatment plant, Penelec's spraying of herbicide along utility rights of way, The IP site, Northwestern PA Sportsmen's coalition has developed an alternative plan for Erie Bluffs State Park, The Earth Day coalition has dissolved, The Erie County Act 101 solid waste plan is up for review theer is still time to make additional improvements.
